Meet me Tomorrow at UCI

Just about every time I have been on the UCI campus in the last few months, it has involved an event that was potentially confrontational.

There was the Michael Oren visit in February, the protests that followed and let’s not forget about “Hate Week.”

Well, I am happy to say that tomorrow is a planned, positive event and one that is open to the entire community.

iFest, 3.0, a week-long celebration by UCI students, has slated a community event day for tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the main performance from noon to 2:00 p.m.  Since community members have been so committed to showing up during the tough times, I would hope they turn out in force as well during a positive experience like ifest.

The best location for people to meet is on the “Ring Road” near the campus Student Center.  For all of the negative publicity the University has received in the past 90 days, it would be nice for the Jewish community to show up in force with a positive message for students and the Irvine community at large to see.

Hope to see you there.
